How to Search All of Facebook Marketplace Nationwide
Facebook Marketplace shows listings around one location. Here's how to search more of it, from changing your radius and using the shipping filter to Google searches and alerts.

Facebook Marketplace has no button to search everywhere. It’s built for local buying, so results center on one location and a set radius. You can still see far more of it by changing your location, filtering for shipped items, or using Google and third-party tools.
Here are six ways to do it.
Quick answer
| Method | Coverage | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Increase your radius | Your region | Free | Driving distance |
| Change your location | One city at a time | Free | Checking a target city |
| Shipping filter | Shipped items nationwide | Free | Small items |
| Google site search | Wide, but incomplete | Free | One-off research |
| Nationwide search tools | Wide | Varies | Rare items |
| Alerts for several cities | The markets you choose | Paid | Catching deals early |
1. Increase your search radius
This is the fastest change to make:
- Open Marketplace and search for your item.
- Click your location in the filters.
- Move the radius to the largest option you see.
- Apply the change.
The largest radius can vary, so go by what your account shows. Facebook also tends to favor closer listings, so a bigger radius won’t always show you everything inside it.
2. Change your location
To check another city, change the location in the same filter. You can also put a city in the Marketplace address:
facebook.com/marketplace/chicago/search?query=aeron%20chair
Change chicago and the search words, then open one tab per city. It’s a manual process, but it gives you the normal Marketplace results for that place.
3. Filter for items that ship
This is the closest thing to a true nationwide search. In your search filters, look for the delivery method option and choose shipping. You’ll see items sellers are willing to send to you, wherever they are.
It works well for electronics, collectibles, and clothing. It won’t help with furniture and most large items, since few sellers ship those.
4. Search Marketplace through Google
Google indexes some public Marketplace pages. Try:
site:facebook.com/marketplace "aeron chair"
Coverage is patchy and new listings rarely appear quickly, so treat this as a research tool.
5. Use a nationwide search tool
Several sites exist just for this. SearchTempest, Browse Marketplaces, and Search World Marketplace all let you search Facebook Marketplace beyond your local area, and SearchTempest also covers Craigslist and eBay.
These tools are handy for rare items. You still need to return and run the search yourself, so they won’t help much with deals that sell within the hour. Our SearchTempest alternatives guide compares more options.
6. Set alerts for your best cities
Nationwide search sounds great, but most flippers don’t need it. If you’re buying a couch to resell, a great deal 900 miles away is no use to you. What you need is to hear about deals in your markets early.
Flipify’s Facebook Marketplace alerts keep checking your saved search and send a push notification when a match appears. Premium watchlists check every minute and basic watchlists check every 10 minutes. Depending on your plan, you can add more than one location to a watchlist.
Facebook can take time to show new listings in search, so no tool sees everything the moment it’s posted. Our guide to listing times explains why.
Which method should you use?
- Small item, want the lowest price anywhere: use the shipping filter.
- Rare item, willing to travel: use a nationwide search tool.
- Checking a city you’ll be visiting: change your location before the trip.
- Sourcing to resell: set alerts for your closest markets.

Stay safe on long-distance deals
Scams are more likely when you can’t see an item in person. Be wary of sellers who want payment outside Facebook, ask for a deposit, or push you to move the chat elsewhere. Read our guide to avoiding online scams before you pay.
FAQ
Can you search all of Facebook Marketplace?
Not in one search. Marketplace is based on location and radius. The shipping filter and third-party tools get you closest.
How do I search Facebook Marketplace nationwide?
Filter by shipping to see items sellers will send to you, or use a nationwide search tool. For local pickup, change your location one city at a time.
Why does Marketplace only show local listings?
Marketplace is designed for local pickup, so it centers results on your location. Changing your location or radius in the search filters shows other areas.
Can I search Facebook Marketplace in other states?
Yes. Change your location to a city in that state, or put the city in the Marketplace web address. You’ll need to repeat this for each city.
